If you live in NJ, apply for your license at the municipality where you reside, not where the ceremony will take place.
If neither of you live in NJ, you must apply at the municipality in which the ceremony will be held.
Some municipalities require an appointment, so call before you go.

NJ Marriage licenses are valid for 30 days from date of issuance.
