Retreats & Personal Rituals

RETREATS

Exploring spiritual or ethical issues with others is a worthwhile effort.  Hearing various views from different people can deepen and stretch us, by challenging us to greater awareness of who we are, what we believe or how we are living.  I can do this in either a religious or secular setting, creating a safe group environment in which participants can share and grow.

If you prefer a religious retreat, I will incorporate scripture reading, private and/or group prayer times, community sharing, experiential learning, and ritual.  As an Interspiritual/Interfaith Minister, I can utilize various faith traditions to enhance the experience, or stay within one tradition.

If you would rather a retreat without religious overtones, we will explore whatever topic you deem important, utilizing quiet time for personal reflection, community sharing and affirmations.

Whether we spend time together for a morning, afternoon, evening, full day or weeekend, your retreat will be time well spent.

PERSONAL CEREMONY or RITUAL

Rituals allow us to recognize and honor something in our life which has changed, and then gives us a way to support that change.  They connect us with something bigger than ourselves and our daily routine; they bring a sacredness to the moment; they encourage reflection upon the issue at hand.

Some of life’s challenges alter our lives drastically.  Rituals can help us heal from and begin to let go of emotional blows such as illness, divorce, miscarriage, losing a job, death of a pet, or being in an accident.

At other times, you or a loved one may achieve a milestone and may wish to honor that important step, blessing it and supporting it into the future.  Occasions such as turning 13, getting a driver’s license, starting a new business venture, buying a new home, or beginning your retirement years, can be ritualized in a one-of-a-kind Personal Ceremony.

Let me help you ritualize and bless what is important in your life.

REFLECTION

…let the beauty of what you love be what you do.
There are a thousand ways to kneel
and kiss the ground,
there are a thousand ways
to go home again.
